In communicating with your fan base (actual or future), there is a quantum difference between an informational post (I’ve posted a new story on my blog, you can find it here (link to click)), and a “call to action” (you should DO something here and now, My story is here (link)– what do you think about it?). An even better (more aggressive) example would be something like: “My story is here (link), be the first to leave a comment about it…..

The trick to building a fan base is to get people engaged and interested in your writings– preferably without being too pushy about it. No one likes to be annoyed.

What are your experiences in building fan base?
